BirminghamGround: St. Andrews Visits: 1 Date: 29th December 2006 Match: Birmingham - Luton 2-2 (CC Championship) Attendance: 24 642
I decided to make one last trip to England this year and this time I visited St. Andrews and Old Trafford. Manchester United have a ticket exchange service for members and from there I bought a ticket from a ST holder who put up his ticket for sale. I did the Stadium Tour of Old Trafford on Friday morning before heading to Birmingham in the afternoon/evening to see Birmingham-Luton.
When I walked from New Street station to St. Andrews I lost my orientation for a while and the walk took me 45 minutes. After picking up my ticket I entered the ground and St. Andrews is yet another true football ground. (Why can´t we have stadiums like that in Sweden ?)
The quality of the match wasn´t the best, the home fans around me were not happy with the Birmingham defence, and Luton managed to go from 0-1 to 2-1 and deservedly looked like returning home with all three points. I left the stadium in 91st minute, the last train back to Manchester was at 10.18 and I wasn´t sure of the way as I lost my orientation earlier, and of course Birmingham score a late, late goal. I missed the goal but was in time for my train and the journey to my hotel in Manchester.
