IFK HässleholmGround: Österås Idrottsplats Visits: 2 Date: 13th May 2008 Match: IFK Hässleholm - Kristianstads FF 0-1 (Division 2 Södra Götaland) Attendance: 632
Österås Idrottsplats was built in 1969 and the capacity today is around 6,000. The record attendance at this ground is from 1993 when 8,500 watched an Allsvenskan play-off between Hässleholm and Degerfors. Since then Hässleholm have been relegated two divisions but with good local support the club really should play at least in Divison 1. A match against neighbouring Kristianstad is THE derby for Hässleholm (there is an old and ongoing rivalry between the towns in most matters...) and even if 632 is a good attendance for this level I have to admit I expected at least 1,000 for this match. Kristianstad played quite well and are now top of the league but the most exciting story from this match/evening is probably the news that Henrik Larsson, his manager at Helsingborg lives in Hässleholm and was at the match, is making a surprise return to the Sweden squad for EURO 2008.
