With sunset coming earlier and earlier there are not many weeks left for Friday evening football in the lower leagues where only a few clubs have floodlights. Pukavik is situated northeast of Sölvesborg and with Björkenäs/Pukaviks IF hosting Backaryds SK at 18.30 on Friday evening in Division 6 Blekinge I decided this was to be where I spent my Friday evening. It takes me around 45 minutes to drive to Pukaviks IP which is actually situated very close to the E22 motorway. The exit is quite almost a kilometre from the ground and going back into the village I made a few wrong turns before finding the narrow street leading down to the ground. Pukaviks IP is a very basic ground without any stands and the pitch looked more brown than green. It has been very warm in southern Sweden lately but this evening the temperature had dropped and in the strong wind it was actually a bit chilly at Pukaviks IP. I counted 35 spectators but with neither team being really close to a promotion spot I realised the attendance would be quite low. The players on the pitch tried their best though and at half-time it was 1-0 to the hosts. 10 minutes into the 2nd half Björkenäs/Pukavik were awarded a penalty. The penalty was saved but a goal was scored from the rebound which really annoyed the Backaryd players. In their opinion the ball was kicked out of the goalkeeper's hands but from my position and was impossible to see if that was actually the case. One more goal was scored and it ended 3-0 to Björkenäs/Pukavik.

With my visit to Pukaviks IP I am now only missing 10 (active) grounds in Blekinge, three in Division 5 and seven in Division 6. I won´t rush it but it will be nice to eventually complete all the leagues in Blekinge.
