Having been away on a tour last weekend I decided to take it easy this weekend and only attend one game of football. The nearest new ground for me was Ljungvalla IP in Furlund and I decided that was to be my destination. It took me just over an hour to reach the ground and I had no problems finding a spot for my car next to the entrance. Furulunds IK were hosting FC Möllan in Division 5 Skåne Sydvästra and with a noon kick-off I would still be back home relatively early. FC Möllan are in 2nd place and aiming for at least a promotion play-off spot. Furulund are mid-table and don´t really have that much to play for. Noon is an unusual kick-off time and 15 minutes into the game I counted 40 spectators but later on the attendance was 55-60. Maybe some thought the game started at 13.00? There is no proper stand at Ljungvalla IP but in the south side of the pitch there are plenty of benches to sit on. Furulund had their chances in the 1st half but it was the visitors from Malmö who were leading 1-0 at the break.

During half-time I went into the clubhouse to buy some coffee and found a few interesting photos. Bengt Lindskog was born in Furlund and played for Furulunds IK in his youth. He later went on to play for several clubs including FC Internazionale from 1958 to 1961 and he was at one time captain. In the photo below you can see him (4th from left in the top row) and also Lennart “Nacka” Skoglund, who played for Inter at this time. I have to admit I had never heard of Bengt Lindskog before but being captain of Inter is quite something.

In the 2nd half both teams had their chances and in the 90th minute Furulund managed to equalise and with no goals in stoppage time it ended 1-1 at Ljungvalla IP. 8/12 for me now in this league and my remaining four grounds are all in Malmö.
