On Friday evening I finally re-completed Division 2 Västra Götaland, one of six leagues at level four in Sweden. In Division 2 Norra Götaland I still have three grounds to visit and on Saturday afternoon I was going to visit one of those, Undavallen in Uddevalla where Herrestads AIF hosted Tidaholms GoIF. From my hotel at Landvetter airport it took me around an hour to drive to Undavallen and as soon as I stepped out of my car I could feel the strong wind. It was to be a very windy afternoon for me but thankfully the rain stayed away today. Undavallen has an artificial pitch and is not the most interesting ground but at least there are two small stands on the east side.

For this match I was joined by Håkan S from Gothenburg, one of Sweden´s most prominent groundhoppers. He had brought a programme from 1994 when Herrestad still played at their former ground and it is fair to say the locals at the entrance were impressed. Håkan and I then chatted throughout the match and as always it is really nice to meet up with fellow groundhoppers.

Once the game got underway there was really only one team on the pitch. Herrestad dominated from the start and made it 1-0 early on. As the final whistle was blown the score-board said 4-0 to Herrestad who are now 4th in the table. Tidaholm are second from bottom but it is very tight at the bottom. From Undavallen I then had four hours in the car ahead of me and after a short stop for dinner I was back home around 19.30.
