The weekend of 14/15th June was the last matchday of the season in 2. Division and with Aarhus Fremad, a long-time target for me, playing at home to Fremad Amager on Saturday afternoon I decided to spend the weekend in Denmark. It is quite a long (just under 5 h) drive for me to Aarhus but luckily for me there were fixtures in Fynsserien on Friday evening. I left Kristianstad around 11am and almost three hours later I had lunch at the service station next to the Store Bælt bridge. From there it was then only 20 minutes left until I reached my destination, Kerteminde in northeastern Fyn. My hotel was next to the ground and once I had checked-in I had a quick view of the ground before heading to the city centre for some sightseeing. It was a lovely Friday afternoon in Kerteminde and in the summer this must be a popular destination for holiday makers. Youths were diving from the bridge in the harbour and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. I found a restaurant where I enjoyed a drink before I made my way back to the hotel.

Kerteminde BK were hosting Kildemosens BK in the penultimate round of Fynsserien at Kerteminde Stadion. Kerteminde are already safe from relegation but for Kildemosen it was important to win to avoid relegation to Serie 1. In the 1st half Kerteminde missed a penalty but in the last minute they scored to make it 1-0. Kildemosen tried their best but Kerteminde was by far the better team today and despite having their goalkeeper sent off Kerteminde won 3-0. Kerteminde are now fourth in the table but for Kildemosen it will be a nervous end to the season next Saturday when they play for their survival in Fynsserien.

At the match I met up with three Danish groundhoppers and as always it is nice to meet up with fellow hoppers and have a nice chat about football and groundhopping!
