LövestadGround: Lövängen Visits: 1 Date: 27th June 2025 Match: Lövestads IF - Esperöds SK 2-1 (Division 6 Skåne Mellersta) Attendance: 140 Not many games left in the lower leagues in Skåne prior to the summer break. The last fixture in Division 6 Skåne Mellersta was at Lövängen where Lövestad hosted neighbours Esperöd on Friday evening. With it being 12 minutes by car between the villages this was a proper derby in the Skåne countryside. Lövestad is around an hour by car for me but on my way to the ground I stopped by my dad (he lives half-way) where I had something to eat. There was actually not much room for cars next to the pitch but a few hundred metres from the ground there was a car park that was used for visitors. It was a very windy evening but there were plenty of trees so it was not too bad. One of the assistant referees is kind of an active groundhopper and I chatted with him before the game started. With it being a local derby I was expecting a decent number of spectators and as I made my lap around the pitch I counted 140 in attendance. For division 6 (level 8) that is an excellent attendance but this was all about local bragging rights! The first half was goalless but early on in the second half Esperöd scored to make it 0-1. Lövestad equalised from the penalty spot and in the 87th minute they managed to find the winning goal. 2-1 to Lövestad and afterwards players and fans celebrated on the pitch together. I enjoyed my visit to Lövängen but there will now be a short break for me visiting lower league grounds.
