Perstorp Bälinge were founded in 2012 as a merger of Perstorp SK and Bälinge BoIK. In 1971 Perstorp SK played in the 2nd tier and almost made it to Allsvenskan. Nowadays Perstorp Bälinge IK play in Division 5 (level 7) but with two wins in their opening two games Perstorp Bälinge have had a good start to the season and they are aiming for promotion to division 4. Today´s opponents, Wisseltofta, played in division 6 in 2023 but had a decent first year back in division 5 last season. Only one point so far though and three points this Thursday evening would be useful for them.

Normally I go to these kinds of games on my own but tonight I persuaded a work colleague to join me and at 16.45 I picked him up. 50 minutes later we arrived in Perstorp and after getting something to eat and drink in the city centre I parked my car outside Ybbarps IP some 15 minutes prior to kick-off. In April last year I was in Perstorp for a county cup game at Uggleplan. Uggleplan has artificial pitch and is where Perstorp Bälinge play their home games when the grass pitch at Ybbarps IP is not yet ready to host games. On my way back home I damaged my car when I collided with a fox btw.

Anyway, around 80 spectators could watch on as the visitors took an early lead. Perstorp Bälinge were clearly the better team but still 0-1 at the break. In the 2nd half Perstorp Bälinge scored twice to take the lead, 2-1. A last minute penalty meant 3-1 and a perfect start to the new season for Perstorp Bälinge. The drive back home went without incidents and on Saturday I will be on the roads again.
