SvalövGround: Svalövs Idrottsplats Visits: 1 Date: 31st May 2025 Match: Svalövs BK - Höganäs BK 4-1 (Division 4 Skåne Västra) Attendance: 90 Having been in Malmö for most of the Thursday (public holiday) I skipped football on Friday evening but on Saturday normal service resumed. My destination was Svalövs IP and the noon KO between Svalövs BK and Höganäs BK in Division 4 Skåne Västra. Last season Svalöv played in Division 5 and at the moment they are 3rd in the table and the club is aiming for back to back promotions. I left home at 10.15 and 75 minutes later I parked my car outside the ground. 12.00 is quite an unusual kick-off time but I guess it had to do with another game being played at 15. It was quite windy but for most of the time the sun was out and it was to be an enjoyable time for me in Svalöv. Surprisingly Höganäs, currently 3rd from bottom, took an early lead and as I had a burger at the break it was 0-1 on the score-board. In the 2nd half Svalöv were by far the better team though and they managed to score four goals. It ended 4-1 and Svalöv will be in contention for yet another promotion. As I was closing in on the ground I had to wait for the trains (two, one in each direction) and as the ground was very close to the railway line I knew (assuming trains are once an hour) when to be prepared to take a picture of an oncoming train. As you can see below I managed to take a decent picture and a ground being this close to a railway line must be quite unique. Another interesting thing about my visit was the blue tit feeding its chicks. I saw the blue tit with food in its beak several times and realised something was wrong. When I discovered the nest right behind me, in the clubhouse roof, and heard the chicks making noise I moved!
